Company History
PreciPoint, founded in 2018, was established with a clear mission: to accelerate the digital transformation of microscopy and laboratory workflows, with a strong focus on cancer diagnostics. While young in years, the company leverages deep industry expertise to drive advancements in digital pathology.
1982
Fritz Müller started developing an XY stage for a microscope as well as corresponding software for microscopic hard testing automation.
1990
The first automated microscopy system is sold for hard testing.
1995
A German pathology lab implements a laboratory information system (LIS) for the first time, modernizing its workflow.
2016
The first fully integrated digital microscope and slide scanner, the M8, is delivered to pathologists.
2018
In a strategic realignment, PreciPoint sharpens its focus on pathologists and its mission to advance digital pathology. The company is restructured under the newly established PreciPoint Group GmbH, with two dedicated subsidiaries operating from Thuringia and Bavaria.
2022
PreciPoint becomes an ISO 13485:2016-certified company, showcasing its expertise in developing, manufacturing and marketing medical devices.
2023
The iO:M8 is launched, setting a new benchmark in telepathology and telecytology by fully unlocking the capabilities of digital interventional pathology.
2025
